Paddy is India's most significant food crop. While most Indians are only familiar with paddy seeds as a normal you will be amazed to know that there are thousands of varieties of paddy seeds in our country.
In the year of 2021/2022 alone, more than 510 million metric tons of paddy was produced worldwide. India is second largest producer in the world, accounting for 24% and in terms of consumption 21%. India is top in list of exporting with 13 million tons, accounting for 30% of the global exports.
The farmer should choose the varieties of paddy according to their region, while varieties of paddy seeds are developed according to different region in the state, because the soil, environment of every place is different.
